MINNEAPOLIS — With a 2015 federal deadline for health care facilities to go paperless, informatics has become one of the fastest growing careers in health care. To help meet that demand, Capella University is launching five new online informatics programs that focus on the use of data and technology in health care settings to improve individual patient outcomes and overall health care quality. The new programs include MSN and RN-to-MSN Nursing Informatics specializations, an MHA Health Care Informatics specialization, and Nursing Informatics and Health Care Informatics certificates. Capella is also expanding its innovative FlexPath direct-assessment learning model to two additional specializations, the Mobile specialization and the Web Application specialization in its Bachelor of Science (BS) in Information Technology, System Development program. Capella University (http://www.capella.edu) is a regionally accredited online university* that offers online degree programs designed to help working adults advance in their careers.
