Seventy-one percent of hospitals plan to enlist anICD-10clinical documentation improvement (CDI) services partner by the third quarter of 2015, according toa new Research and Markets report, to help them meet more stringent documentation requirements ahead of the October 1, 2015 switch to the new code set. A number of hospitals are considering outsourcing their coding and CDI efforts as a way to ease their ICD-10 burden and help mitigate some of the anticipated challenges to revenues and productivity as time ticks down towards the implementation date.
