ICD-10 Update, October 2014
The countdown has restarted toward the compliance deadline with the federally mandated conversion to ICD-10 diagnostic and procedural codes! On July 31, 2014, HHS issued a rule finalizing October 1, 2015, as the new compliance date for health care providers and health plans to transition to ICD-10. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a final rule officially setting the ICD-10 transition date as October 1, 2015. The one-year delay was included as part of the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014.
