ICD10 and Risk Adjustment

Based on current legislation, the ICD-9 code sets, used to report medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures, will be replaced by the new ICD-10 version code sets on October 1, 2015. This ICD-10 transition is one of the biggest issues facing healthcare providers, payers, and software vendors. Accordingly, there is much speculation about the impact of this transition on risk adjustment. The three studies detailed below aim to gauge that impact:
