What’s Ahead for Healthcare CIOs at the CHIME Fall Forum?

A brief look at the track sessions that should provide notable insight into the EHR, HIT, and other needs of healthcare CIOs at CHIME14.



Many healthcare CIOs were likely heading into this year’s CHIME14 CIO Fall Forum with the belief that their organizations would be reasonably well advanced in their efforts to achieving Stage 2 Meaningful Use and ICD-10 compliance. However, several forces have conspired to make those two initiatives competitors for resources now in 2015 rather than 2014.



Along with these EHR- and coding-related programs, healthcare organizations and their CIOs are engaged in various other initiatives to prepare themselves for reimbursement shifts from volume to value — that is, fee-for-service to value-based reimbursement — as well as numerous quality reporting requirements.
